Guest post by Zon auctionator

Auctionator is a great auctioning addon. It has 3 different tabs: Buy, Sell, and More.

In the Buy tab, you can create Shopping Lists which make it easier for you to buy specific stuff, like Infinite Dust. You just add it to the list, and you can easily search for it anytime you're on the Auction House. You can have multiple items in a list, and multiple lists too.

In the Sell tab, you can just drag an item to the upper box, and it scans for any other auctions of the same item, and you can then choose what auction to undercut from the list. You can also select the stack size, and how many stacks you want to sell. The default duration for items can be configured. You can also configure a hotkey for the Sell tab, so all you have to do is hold it down and click on an item, and it takes you to the Sell tab, and sets the price for the item.

In the More tab, you can scan all your auctions for undercuts, and once finished scanning, you can cancel all those auctions, and just re-post them.
You can also scan the whole Auction House to get AH prices on item tooltips.

Fast way of getting skill points in leatherworking!

Hi i have found a fast way of getting some skill points on your leatherworker without having to do so much. If you use five of http://www.wowhead.com/item=52977#dropped-by you get 1 skill point. This is a easy way to get some fast skill points in the beginning for those who are aiming at becoming one of the first leather workers on their server.

Right now i would recommend anyone who is not aiming for becoming one of the first with a crafting professions on their server to put everything they get in the new zones on the auction house. The price spike for the new cataclysm trade goods will only last a couple of days then the price will go down again.

The best place to farm leather is to stand to the right of the smuggler's scar and kill these guys http://www.wowhead.com/npc=39948, they have almost a instant respawn and a lot of people are killing these. So you can just go around skinning the dead corpses, another good thing with this place is that a boss which has a higher chance of dropping whole leather pieces.
That's all for now enjoy cataclysm /missbanks

Call to auction podcast

Level Gathering proffesions/netherweave bags

A thing that you can make money on in each expansion is gathering professions. The gathering professions make most gold in the early time of the expansion pack while crafting makes most gold at the end and mid time of the expansion pack.

It might seem like a stupid idea to go around gathering ores/herbs instead of leveling but because of high demand on mats for leveling crafting skills and most people not having the time to gather because they want to level, this creates a perfect time for making money.

From the beginning of the expansion you will be able to fly with 310% in Azeroth to farm the new herbs/ores. This will probably make so the herbs/ore will no increase as much as they did in Wotlk but at the same time you will be able to farm more in the same amount of time spent. So even thought the prices will not spike as much as in Wotlk you will still be able to make a good amount of money from farming.

Netherweave cloth costs 1,8g a stack when i just checked the auction house to make a netherweave bag it takes 20 netherweave cloth and 1 rune treads. The bags sell for 11g each which gives you profit of
1,8 for the cloth
50s for the rune cloth.
This gives you a profit of 8,7g which is a really good profit for almost no effort or time spent. So i recommend anyone with a tailor to go and craft some bags cause they sell like butter with all the new started characters.
That is all for now cu later /missbanks

Wowhead links in game

I have decided to write a guide on how to get a wowhead link into the game, in the latest patch they added so that you can with a wowhead link get a real link to a item.
1: go into
2. search for the item your looking for
3. Click on the item and after that click on the red button that says link
4. you will get a link that looks like this /script DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("\124cffffffff\124Hitem:36912:0:0:0:0:0:0:0:0\124h[**********]\124h\124r");
5. Now copy paste that link into wow and press enter
6. You will now get a link in game to the item.
7. Open what ever chat you want to say it in and shift click the link you got out of previous steps.

This is a good way to get a head start when cataclysm starts, there are some items that's not yet in the game but that is on wowhead. You can take the link from wowhead and add it to your snatch list, this will give you a advantage when trying to snatch the new cataclysm item
Thats all /missbanks

Beancounter for the last 5 days

Wanted to show you guys what i have been selling and for what prices over the last 5 days.

As you can see it's mostly glyphs and things i stockpiled for cataclysm, but i have also find a new thing added in 4.0.3 this is that enchanting vellum is now sold by all enchanting supply stores for only 9s and 50c as you can see in some of the pictures i tried this and it works really well i almost made a 100% profit for each enchanting vellum i sold.

It is unknown if this is a bug or something that was meant to follow the patch so i recommend stacking some for later user. In worst case scenario is stays and you lose a bit of money best case it is removed from the game and you make a lot of profit.

i am back and my stockpile for cataclysm

Hello i have decided to start writing a bit on the blog again because i saw that people are still reading it even thought it has not been updated in several months.
I wanted to show you my stockpile and how i stocked for cataclysm

After i took this pictures i added 2 tabs full with different glyphs so i had 3 of each kind i could create on my inscribe. I also added some different kinds of low level mats and outland mats.

When 4.0.3 hit i posted all my stockpile on the auction house for slightly overpriced to make profit and i made a lot of money. Within a day i made 15k in gold, all my 50 neatherweave bag i sold with 2-4g profit and they all sold the first day. The glyphs i stockpiled sold from 40-120g each and i made about 10k from that the first day and they have been selling well ever since.

The adamantite ore and cobalt ore i had stockpiled (only a few stacks) sold almost instantly and for a really good profit.

The one thing that hasn't sold yet is my saronite bars/ores which still is up on the auction house think i over did it a bit and bought to many worst case i will lose a couple gold per stack and vendor them.

A list of all the thing i stockpiled before cataclysm

That is my story of the quite successful stockpile hope you also had a good stockpile and that you made a good amount of gold :) that is all for now cu later

Gem Stocking for Cata

A few Days Ago i was looking on the internet for Things to stockpile for cata, i read that as old player who no longer play Wow Would more than likely come back with new toons or lower level chars that cannot afford Epic Nrend Gems, Therefore They said to stockpile blue gems for cata.
Just a Suggestion :), If u need any of these gems cut /w me ingame (Magiikzz). And i will Cut them for you, you will need

Item's sold the last 4 days

Decided it could be fun to check what items i have sold over the last 4 days and show a good way to use the bean counter to check that items you have sold or bought.

How to start a snatch list picture version

You can have several items in each snatch list and several lists I have for example one snatch list with some good stuff that I prospect or resale. I have one for all the herbs I need for flasks and inscription and I have one with all the gems for jewelcrafting. This makes it easy to with a couple of mouse clicks fix all your shopping for all the professions

Blogg carinval and new glyph interface

I want to say thank for getting a chance to be in the blogg carnival. Check out all the posts over at http://www.justmytwocopper.org/2010/09/blogging-carnival-20-strategies-on.html 20 posts from different gold making sites. Haven't had time to read through them all but the once I have read seems very good.

Also want to link to http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/1956-Cataclysm-Glyphs-Heroic-SFK-and-Deadmines a post over at mmo-champions which shows the new glyph system and how you can search for all the glyphs you don't have and you can add those you have as you want to. There will also be three different glyph types.

Selling vendor items and runescroll feedback.

I tried a experiment I posted some salt on the auction house which you can buy at the trade goods vendors.I posted them for 4g each and all of them sold, you might wonder why would anyone buy salt when you can buy it from a vendor? Well some people stair blindly at the mats they need and don't remember that it's sold from a vendor so they search on the auction house after it and if they find it they will probably buy it. This is a cheap way to make some gold, I am gone try another experiment I am gone post some vendor items for 10x the vendor price and i will report back how they are selling and if they are :) You can try this yourself and report back if it works on your sever. In the worst case you lost a couple of gold and have to sell it to the vendor.

Items i buy from the bartender in orgrimmar.
5x bottle of pinot noir.
5x flask of port
5x skin of dwarven stout
5x flagon of mead

From shimra trade supplies on orgrimmar
2x skinning knife
2x minning pick
2x blacksmith hammer
2x fishing pole
2x copper rod
5x salt

From trak'gen general goods orgrimmar
5x simple wood
2x heavy brown bag

I want to report back that the rune scroll of fortitude worked great i sold 5 of them I think for 8g each so that's 40g from one snowfall ink that sell for 13g normally on the auction house. So i do really recommend trying posting some rune scrolls I posted mine in singles and a fall back price of 8g. Because there were no other rune scrolls up it was posted for 8g which seemed to be a good price cause a couple of hours later someone bought them all.

Mithril

Hi guys yesterday when i was buying mats to level up my blacksmithing I saw that there were almost no mithril bars but loads of ores on the auction house. This is a opportunity so make some gold. IF you have a miner who can smelt mithril I would recomend going onto the auction house buying the mithril and smelting it in to bars so people that's levelling professions can buy them and use them.

so why don't the people that mine the ores melt them?
probably because they don't want to spend the time melting them it takes a while to melt up to 200 bars. On my server you make up to 20g a stack in profits doing this. They will not sell that often but when they do they will sell in 10s of stacks.

Finding weak points like this were there are no mats on the auction house for people levelling professions is a good way to make some gold. The most common guide used when levelling professions is http://www.wow-professions.com/, why don't you go through the list and see if there's any weak points on your realm. Any mats that's not on the auction house? any ores you can smelt or ores you can prospect? When people are levelling professions they will in first case look at the auction house for that item and if there's mats on the auction house they will not look for the ore or whatever you get that mats from, they will go directly to the mats they need to save time. Thought often not money.

Zon guest poster

This is zons guest post :)

Remote AH
You can use the Auction House remotely to check if your auctions have sold, and browse other auctions. If you want to buy or post items via Remote AH, you need to buy a subscription. It's good if you're at school or away from your computer. Just login at the WoW Armory, and select Auction House below the Search box.

Recipe Runs
I sometimes do a recipe run for some money. Basically I use the AddOn RecipeRadar, and buy all buyable recipes from every vendor, and then auction them. RecipeRadar shows all vendors who sell recipes, so it's easy, but time consuming having to fly from place to place. But it pays pretty well, since all the recipes are like 1g each, and you can sell them for 6g+.

Stockpiling inks for 4.0

In the patch 4.0 the cataclysm patch the glyph system will change, instead of when you change a glyph the one you had before is gone. The new system will be so that when you get a glyphs you "learn" it and you will be able to switch freely with that glyph. What this means is when 4.0 hit everyone is gone head for the auction house and buy out all the glyphs they do not have to learn all of them so they can switch between them when they need to.

So what can you do to make gold from this?
If you have a inscribe you can start learning all the minor and major glyphs from the book of glyph mastery and from the daily experiments. Even the glyphs that might not sell that well today will when 4.0 comes out.

You can also start stockpiling tons and tons of different inks being ready to craft tons of glyphs when 4.0 comes out. As it looks like right now there is no vendor to trade ink of the sea to the other inks so if you need to trade them in for another ink type you should do it before 4.0 hits otherwise your stuck with loads of ink of the sea but none of the other inks.

If you don't have a inscribe?
Then you can also stockpile both ink and northrend herbs, because there is always gone be people that haven't stockpiled or haven't stockpiled enough those people are going to head to the auction house to buy out herbs and inks to craft the glyphs they need/want to sell.

So basically everyone makes gold out of this change?
Yes I would say in the beginning everyone will but I would also say that this change will change the glyph market and how it works today. Because once the initial rush have settled and everyone got all the glyphs then there will be no reason to buy any more glyphs then to glyph up alts. The gold making community is split over this change is it a good thing or a bad thing? I think that it's a good thing but it might have some bad effects on the market and it might cause the glyph price to rise to make up for that glyphs will not sell in such a extent.

Though this is just theory crafting no one really knows what's going to happen and it's hard to predict.

edit: I checked the beta instead of trading ink of the sea you trade darkfallow ink and there is also another new ink called inferno ink. The trainer are not yet updated.

From 1k gold to 2k gold

When you are at 1k gold you are at a delicate point, you don't have that much gold to spend and you have to think about every investment so you don't lose all your gold. You don't have enough money to spend on levelling a profession so I would say the smartest way to get to 2000 gold is by flipping and using the professions you already have.

Infinite dust

Only invest in safe stuff items that always sell for example I would try investing in infinite dust. Buy when it's low for example on my server I buy when it's at 1,5 gold each and sell when it's up to 1,7-2 gold each. This might not sound like a lot of profit but if you think about it if you buy 100g infinite dust (5 stacks) you would make 20-50g in profit. This is a sure sell because people always need infinite dust and even if you are not the one that has infinite dust up for the cheapest right at that time, people will buy up until they come to your items. I have found that most times there is no need to undercut on infinite dust it handles it self and if you just have some patients your auctions will sell. Best way to post infinite dust is in 1,5 and 20.

Borean leather to arctic fur

You can also buy borean leather and heavy borean leather and turn them into Arctic fur. If you do not have leather working yourself ask someone in your guild or a nice person in trade, I am sure you will find someone. You turn 60 borean leather (3 stacks) into 10 heavy borean leather and then you can trade them in to this guy http://www.wowhead.com/npc=32515 You get 1 arctic fur for 10 heavy borean leather. Arctic fur is also one of those items that always sell and is an sure deal that they sooner or later will sell.

Snatcher

Another thing I did when I started with auctioneering was when I saw someone in trade announcing that they wanted to buy an item for example icethorn, I would whisper them asking, How much they would pay for that icethorn? and if they would continue needing that item in the future. Often I would get the answer yes they would need that item in the future and they regularly bought them. So then I would add that person to my friends list and go to the auction house add icethorn on my snatch list for the a a bit less then the person wanted to buy it for. Now I waited until that item showed up on my snatch list, when it did I would buy them all out and whisper this person saying I got some items for you and go trade with them. It might not give you so much profit but if you have several people you sell items to you can make a decent profit.

This way was a good and safe way to make profit for me in the beginning, I didn't want to do resale because I wanted the money fast I wanted to be sure I would get my money. If you are not sure if the person still wants the item whisper him/her and ask before you buy out the items also a good thing to ask is how many they need so you don't buy to many of the item.

These are the three ways I used when I just started auctioneering and I wanted to be sure to progress with my gold making without any delay or lose of gold. All of these way are a guaranteed profit almost instantly depending on how high population you server has. But even on a low population server this will work you just need to have a bit more patients.

That's all for me missbanks at bronzebeard horde eu hope you have enjoyed my post for justmytwocopper.org blog carnival, please check out the rest of my blog :)

Missbanks addon pack

Wanted to link my addon pack that i put together it has most of the important crafting and auctioneering addons.
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/packs/11538/default.aspx

To download this pack you need curse client 4 if you don't want to install it just check the addons i have listed an download it manually

Addons i have listed and what they do

Auctioneer= basic addon for scanning the auction house and post items. There are several others like this one but i like this one the best because of it's built in search features like resale and snatch list.

Gatherer= addon that saves the herbs/ores you and guildes gather and puts a icon on the minimap on the coordinates where the item was picked. Useful if you farm a lot and you can't remember where the items spawn.

Ackis recipe list= Shows you which recipes you miss and how to get them / where to get them. Really good if you want the chef title or any other achievement where you need a lot of recipes. Or if you just want a recipe so you can craft that item.

altoholic= Keeps track of all your characters on you account all they have in the bags on the what they can craft and so on. Necessary for ktq and some other addons.

Postal= a mail addon is a must if you deal with tons of addon, you don't have time to sit and click on each mail you. This is why you get postal, postal opens the mail with just one push of a button.

Quick auctions 3= a good addon for automatic posting and cancelling, really good if you want to undercut people on the items you sell.

lilsparky's workshop= creates a new window for you proffesions and makes it easy queuing up items and seeing what items you need to buy to craft what items. Needs altoholic to work properly

mailopener= Refreshes your mail box and together with postal you can go to the mail box and go afk and when you come back all your mails are opened or you bags are full :) really nice to use

Panda= addon i use for prospecting and milling. it uses a macro to easily prospect or mill with one push of a button

kevtool queue= addon to queue up items you want to craft for example /ktq queue 5 glyphs and it will queue up so all the glyphs. it uses altoholic to see how many you got so if you got 3 of a glyph on another char it will craft 2 more so you have a 5 of a total. Needs altoholic and sparkys workshop to work.

Elephant= a chat addon that saves all the talk so you can see what people are whispering you or what people are saying in trade without being disturbed by the spam of auctioneer.

Kev skilletitemstats= shows a little window next to the item to show how many you got of that item.

That's all the addons i have in my pack if you think i have forgot any good addons please leave a comment on this post and i will add that addon

Annother good item to stockpile for cata

You can read this post on justmytwocopper.org

The last week after getting my warrior to 80, and starting on the Shadowmourne quest, I've been thinking. Everyone loves orange stuff, and Shadowmourne is as orange as you can get it. I guess there will be people who would like to get their hands on a legendary axe, even after cata hits. Atm Primordial Saronite is going for 430-500 on my server, and they are still dropping in price. You need 30 Primordial Saronite for the axe. It doesn't drop that much in ICC and the other way to get it would be by trading frost emblems and after cata hits live realms, there wont be anyone farming these emblems anymore. My point is: its gonna be really hard for people to get Primordial Saronite for their legendary axes. Could Primordial Saronite be something to invest some gold into for the distant future? Will the supply be so low that it increases the value even though not that many people want it anymore?

Cheers
Spiff"

Haha I appreciate the spell check Spiff. You bring up a very interesting point. No one is going to want to farm the primordial saronite and if there is ANY kind of demand for people grouping up and wanting to start the chain for this weapon then I could see the price rising to 2k gold+ per saronite. That demand will most likely come from guilds trying to earn guild experience which will be awarded for each new legendary a guild creates. This will make all your primordial saronite in cataclysm worth far more than it is today.

It's an interesting idea for sure, just look at the price of mats for vanilla legendaries like blessed blade of the wind seeker and there isn't even guild experience to act as an incentive yet. I plan on buying out all the primordial saronite on my server the last few weeks of the expansion.

I have also seen in the beta that there are guild achievements for getting all legendary why should not shadowmourne be a part of this achievement. Because none will farm primordial saronite but still new guild or guilds that haven't gotten the shadowmourne are going to be willing to pay big amounts as a guild to get that legendary.
This could be a good stockpiling item but i recommend waiting a bit and see if this item is in the legendary achievement or not.

Making extra gold with runescrolls

You can read this post on justmytwocopper.org

Well I thought about using my snowfall inks I get from milling and not just sell them to pay for the herbs,
so eventually I started using the snowfall inks for Runescrolls of Fortitude, which sell for 35g for a Stack of 5 on my server.

So when I buy Icethorn of the ah for about eight to ten gold a stack, I double my money before I crafted any Glyphs.

When I started the idea on the weekend, I sold 5 stacks in the first 20 minutes. During the Week they sell okay.

Just wanted to leave my advice here, since I used a lot of your advices as well.

Sincerly,
Dantol"

Dantol is spot on but he should also look into selling his runescrolls in stacks of 1, 2, 5 and 20. Many players choose to sell their snowfall inks for 5-10 gold a piece but that is far less gold than they are truly worth. Pricing of snowfall ink directly effects how much profit you can make on your glyph business as well as how low you can set your glyph threshold. Let's say you can sell a 5 stack of runescrolls for 35 gold, that means that your glyphs are practically free and pure profit! You could even set your glyphs to a 1 gold threshold and make a profit, though I wouldn't recommend that because it would be a waste of time posting them. Interesting concept huh? We discussed this to death on multiple episodes of Call to Auction, if you haven't looked into that podcast and are serious about making gold... well you should start now!

Maybe i should try this usually i only sell my snowfall ink and don't think that much more about it but this seems like a good way to make a bigger profit and push down the minimum sell price of your glyphs. I recommend trying this tip and seeing if it works for you :)

Starting to post a bit again

I am gone start posting a bit again, not as much and only when i got time,
Want to start saying that my alliance side have been going well and thanks to a friend that helped me transfer some stuff to the horde side i made about 50% profit of the items i bought. I bought recipes promodial saronite and pets, stuff that auctioneer cross faction recommended. I sent them to my friend and my friend posted them for 1c each. The fastest way to buy these up is to normally scan the auction house (only about 100 auction up on neutral ah) Then go into search tab and vendor. Because my friend post all the auctions for 1c all the items will show up as a good item to vendor. Then you just quickly buy them up before anyone else snatches them from you.

I bought 2 promdial saronite for 450g and i sold them in the same day for 580g each on horde side. Thats a good amount of quick earned money. The pets and recipes sell a bit slower but when they sell they give you even more profit.

You might think why post the auctions for 1c then people might snatch it why not post it for the actual price of the item? Well this is because the neutral auction house takes 15% of the amount you put it up for in "taxes". So the more you put the items up for the more it's gone cost you.

So if you have a good friend or a guildy that you trust i recommend you trying this, if you don't have any gold on horde side/alliance side you can always create a level one and borrow some money for a friend (like 5gold) and transfer some items from the other side to that character. The 5 gold will be enough to post pets and recipes for short duration. This way you can transfer gold to another side without having to pay the 15% tax and you can now start to auctioneer on both side and do some cross faction selling.

I hope this guide helped you a bit and if you have any problems you can find me at missbankstheah@gmail.com or on missbanks on bronzebeard horde

Gatherer is a brilliant addon for mining herbalism and more proffesions. It's mostly good for remembering where the nodes herbs lockboxes and many more are..What it does is
remember where you or a guild member with the same addon herbed, mined, lockpicked maybe even skinned before you dont have to actuly take the item you could just click it instead. The database keeps a record of what you have taken, how far away it is,what region, who picked it up and co-ordinates.It also shows where they are on the map.And many more features. In my opinion I think this addon's great I got from 1-450 herbalism in less then a day and will soon begin mining hope the addon helps :)..Flamesdeath

Taking a break

taking a break from posting and auctioneering cause i don't have that much time to spend playing wow. I will keep auctioneering on the server so you will still see me online but i wont be online as much. If you want help with anything i will still be able to help you just give me a whisper. To check my old posts go to the-ah.blogspot.com and check the archives at the bottom of the page
